The 2nd Annual Tony Diaz Memorial Motorcycle Run is fast approaching. This years ride is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2010.
On June 15, 2008, Deputy Jose "Tony" Diaz was slain in the line of duty. Deputy Diaz was posthumously awarded the Department's Gold Medal of Valor, the highest award given by the Yolo County Sheriff.
The proceeds from the ride benefit the Tony Diaz Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship is given to local area high school students that are interested in a career in Law Enforcement.
This year’s ride will consist of a 75 mile ride through the back roads of Yolo County, taking you through the areas that Deputy Diaz Patrolled. The ride will begin at Delta High School in Clarksburg, CA and end at the Cache Creek Casino in Brooks, CA. There will be breakfast and drinks to purchase in the morning at the High School. The ride will take approximately two (2) hours.
Registration will be from 8:00 am - 10:00am. The ride will begin promptly at 10am. Registration is $30. The registration fee includes a T-Shirt, a Lapel Pin and lunch at the Cache Creek Casino. Online Registration is recommended!!
There will be refreshments and entertainment at the Cache Creek Casino starting at 12:00 pm. There will also be a silent action at the casino.
Please come out and enjoy the day! If you are not riding a bike you can come to the Casino to purchase shirts and enjoy the entertainment, provided by Eddie Loebs and Blue Soul.
