Your membership in the Yolo County Deputy Sheriff's Association provides you with the following benefits:

Accidental Disability and Dismemberment Insurance

The Accidental Disability and Dismemberment Insurance is provided by the Myers-Stevens group. Our agent is Paul Harrison and can be reached by phone, 1-800-995-1099. The Accidental Disability and Dismemberment Insurance provides the following benefits:

• One time payments for loss of body parts
• $10,000 for on-duty death / $2000 off-duty death

Legal Defense

You are covered for legal defense by the PORAC Legal Defense Fund. The Legal Defense fund provides coverage for:

• Internal Affairs Investigations (IA's)
• Violations of Department Policy
• Criminal charges resulting from your law enforcement duties
• Civil lawsuits resulting from your law enforcement duties
• Acts committed within the course and scope of you job duties on and off-duty
• Acts committed outside the course and scope of you job duties (i.e. Citizen complaints or other activities reported to the department unrelated to law enforcement)

Long-Term Disability Insurance

You are provided with Long Term Disability Insurance, PORAC Group Long Term Disability Plan A. The Long-Term Disability Insurance is managed by the Myers-Stevens group. Our agent is Paul Harrison and can be reached by phone, 1-800-995-1099. The Long Term Disability Insurance provides the following benefits:

• Protects 66 2/3 of wages to a maximum monthly benefit of $5000
• Maximum Benefit Period - Lifetime
• 30 day waiting period (0 days for work related disabilities)
• Minimum monthly benefit of $200 while receiving sick leave
• Cost of Living Adjustment - increases benefit up to 5% each year, based on Consumer Price Index (Non-Industrial Disabilities). No maximum on Benefits received
• $50,000 Death Benefit - Coverage 24/7, natural or accidental causes
